What's New 2008-2009

     Exciting things are in the works for the GIRLS CHORAL ACADEMY!!  Our tuition choirs will start the 2008-2009 season with a CHOIR CAMP to be held on Friday after school to Saturday after dinner, place TBA-Chorale will attend on September 26, and 27, while Academy and Coro Salinas will attend on October 3 and 4.  This will be a great way to kick off the year, learn new music, participate in fun camp activities like a talent show and bonfire, and build friendship and fellowship!  Our ANNUAL BENEFIT is being held on Tuesday October 7, at 7 PM at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center and will feature music from the Broadway hit Wicked!  Two exciting CHORAL CONCERTS will be held, one in December and one in March, time and place TBA, and the year will conclude with a MUSICAL-- a Disney musical presented by the Chorale, and a Broadway musical presented by the Academy and Coro Salina, title, time and place TBA,Finally the Chorale, the Academy Choir, and Coro Salinas will travel to CHICAGO for competition and a trip to Six Flags in the Spring.  WHAT A YEAR!! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Would YOU like to make a difference in a young girl’s life?

The GIRLS CHORAL ACADEMY is looking for dedicated women who are interested in working with at-risk girls, grades 3-5, through our mentorship program at Buchanan Elementary, Hall Elementary, and Southwest Community Campus Schools. The Grandville Avenue Girls Choir is a weekly after-school enrichment program designed to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and develop leadership skills in a safe, nurturing environment. Mentors will be paired with 2 or 3 girls, and attend one brief rehearsal a month followed by a group activity. They will also correspond with the girls once a month and provide transportation to, and attend concert performances. For more information please contact us at
