Hello

We are delighted to introduce Jody as the new Director of Development and Communications at Girls Choral Academy. With over 20 years of experience leading a  thriving music school as Director and CEO, Jody embraced this career change recently when an employee purchased the company from her. Not ready for retirement yet, she decided to use her broad skill set in a new way and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our mission at GCA. Jody's BA degree is from Michigan State University and she has started a Masters degere at Queens University in Kingston Ontario. Her husband Wright McCargar is a Music Director for GR Civic Theater and GR Christian High School. Her hobbies include playing and teaching piano and "anything in nature" - especially gardening and hiking.  She grew up the daughter of an astronomer and a science educator, spending time living in a planetarium at the top of a mountain in Flagstaff Arizona and on Beaver Island at the CMU Biological Station.  Her mom had a beautiful voice, and filled their homes with constant singing and music, something she passed on to her own daughters (now adults, Georgia and Suzy.  Jody and family recently moved to a 7 acre farm in Middleville Michigan and she is excited to serve GCA and our community!
