The Girls Choral Company is built on the belief that, through music, we can forge meaningful, empathic connections with people from every nationality, culture and background. Through our regional and national, and hopefully someday soon: international tours,  we embrace performance as a powerful means of expressing our unique experiences while learning about the lives of people different from us. GCA tours make unparalleled global encounters accessible to our singers, encouraging them to build bonds far beyond their home neighborhood and community and encouraging the global thinkers and leaders of tomorrow.   
 
Despite our ambitious dreams and steadfast work, the reality is that many of our girls have not traveled outside of Grand Rapids.  Even a day trip to Chicago remains an impossibility for many families who struggle each day through financial uncertainty.  
 
Our Tour Scholarship Fund was opened with hopes that the West Michigan philanthropy and corporate giving community will wrap their arms around these girls and contribute in any way possible so that we can afford them the life changing experience of travel.  We seek to create an opportunity for every young woman in our choir program to be able to travel outside of her community with her choir and connect with other young people across the U.S. Through these performances, our singers share their unique experiences with their peers from unfamiliar places. During these dynamic moments - singing creates a space for connection and impact beyond the stage, sharing not only our music, but messages of peace and tolerance as well, all while exploring the dynamic history of music and migration that defines the American story.
 
While this gift is a one time $1,500 donation, you may go to the Donate Page to set up a smaller donation or better yet, a recurring small donation of $20, $50, $100 to help us build up this fund.  The $1,500 donation   allows a girl to participate in a 5 day trip with her peers.
