In 2023, Girls choral Academy was awarded a three-year, $90,000 grant from the Steelcase Foundation to support our neighborhood choirs and summer programming. This incredible investment has already expanded opportunities for girls across Kent County, empowering them through music, leadership, and community.
In a recent conversation with the Steelcase Foundation, our Executive Director, Lisa Knight, shared how this support has strengthened GCA's mission to mentor girls in grades 1-12 through choral music, social-emotion learning, and leadership development. From free six-week summer camps to afterschool choirs in nine neighborhood schools, this funding has helped us reach mor families, create spaces of belonging, and build pathways to confidence and creativity.
We invite you to read the full interview with Lisa on the Steelcase Foundation blog to learn more about how this grant is transforming lives and what's next for Girls Choral Academy.
