Celebrating Our Executive Director, Lisa Knight: A 2025 “16 Over 60” Honoree

From the stage to City Hall, Lisa Knight leads with passion, creativity, and care, and we are thrilled to celebrate her recognition as a 2025 Senior Neighbors “16 Over 60” honoree!

As Executive Director of Girls Choral Academy, Lisa has reimagined what music education can be. Under her leadership, GCA has become a space where girls (especially Black and Brown girls) see themselves reflected in leadership, confidence, and joy. Whether she’s guiding a choir rehearsal or speaking from the City Commission dais, Lisa brings the same conviction and compassion to every note and every decision.

Her influence extends far beyond our academy walls. Lisa directs plays that celebrate Black joy, serves on community boards including YWCA, Circle Theatre, and Family Promise of West Michigan, and continues to mentor young women who now lead and give back in their own communities. We are endlessly proud to see her honored for the impact she’s made and continues to make on the lives of countless girls, families, and the city she loves.

Each year, the 16 Over 60 Awards Gala celebrates neighbors age 60+ who continue to lead, volunteer, and inspire. It’s an uplifting evening that showcases stories of purpose and community. The 2025 honorees reflect the vigor and vision that flourish with age and experience, reminding us that leadership and service know no limits.

We’re grateful to Senior Neighbors and the event’s generous sponsors for making this celebration possible, as well as for supporting year-round services that empower and uplift older adults across West Michigan.

Congratulations, Lisa, on this well-deserved honor! 💜Your leadership reminds us all to dream bigger, sing louder, and lead with heart.
