The Red Kettle Kickoff marked a joyful beginning to the holiday season. The Salvation Army Brass Band filled the air with festive favorites while the girls enjoyed pizza, donuts, and hot cocoa. As the opening act, the girls sang "The 12 Days of Christmas" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." At the end, one of the girls took the microphone and exclaimed, "That was so easy!" The awes and giggles from the crowd were truly heartwarming.
After the ceremony, we went inside the Amway Lobby to join the Central Territory Songsters for a few songs. Watching the girls experience the vibrant harmonies of these accomplished choral musicians was incredible—their faces lit up with awe, and several even expressed interest in singing that kind of music someday.
We are especially grateful to the Salvation Army of Kent County for their hospitality and encouragement throughout the evening. They even sent the girls home with thoughtful gifts, making everyone feel incredibly appreciated. We can't wait to join them again for the Angel Tree event on December 4th!
Sixteen girls from both the neighborhood and downtown choirs attended, accompanied by Kris, Mary Kate, Lisa, and several families who stayed to enjoy the concert. Thank you for helping us kick off the holiday season with such enthusiasm—we look forward to the upcoming events that will continue to spread holiday cheer!
Here are a few pictures from the event, enjoy!
